Why even ask the question? Everybody knows that Elias Pettersson makes the Pacific All-Stars the best team. |

If the game was anywhere else, the Gio snub would be ridiculous. But the game is for the kids and the majority of the kids there will be Sharks fans, so whatever. |

Every All Star Game in every sport has players being included who are there by reputation when players with better stats are snubbed. It's been that way for decades. Why Stamkos instead of Point, who has 9 more points? Reputation...Karllson has played better than his stats and one could make the argument that he has had the more difficult challenge this year by having to adapt to a new team, new system, and new way of life compared to Giordano. Giordano absolutely deserves to go, but....
Marner deserves to go too, but you need someone from every team and who would you exclude? |

Eklund: Giordano Snub Baffles Me. Source: Nylander Last Chance Already? Buzz@1 - Eklund
It’s simple. The hockey world revolves around the east coast. Most out west go unnoticed.
Gio is as talented and as hard a working guy there is in the NHL. He is also very humble. Not flashy enough to garner the attention of most of the drooling masses.
He’s as classy a guy as there is. He won’t say a negative word about the situation, and will use the time off to spend with his family. I’m proud he is our Captain.
For the rest of you, some love, some hate the All Star Game and Skills Competition 2 day event. Either way, take care of each other this New Year.

Nylander's last chance will not come 12 games into his season. I would say his performance in this years playoffs will decide his fate. If he struggles in the season and struggles in the playoffs, he might be converted into a dman somehow.
If he struggles during the season and lights it up in the playoffs, he wont be going anywhere.
If he lights it up the rest of the season and fails to produce in the postseason, then it could go either way, but likely they will keep him and try to spend some more time helping him find more consistency. |

I don't think Marner is up for the vote. I think it will be either Reilly or Bergeron. |

Rielly has my vote if those are the only options.

I think Metropolitan has best team...two great goalies over the other divisions 1 to 1.5 goalies.

Considering the asg is non contact, I'd rather see speed and skill make it. Would love to see Marner there, his creativity would be fun to watch. That being said, you can only have so many players from each team, so what can you do?
The Gio thing is purely because SJ needed 3 players. Would you bump Gaudreau for Gio? Think that's the only way it works. Why the loyalty to Karlsson though? Why not Couture instead? |

I am a little put out that Gio is not there, but as a Flames fan I am happy that he gets some rest time and come back refreshed & rested after the All Star break - hopefully to end the year even better than he has been up to now. The guy is a beast and with the amount of TOI, and the intensity level he plays at at 35 years old - the break will be beneficial for him. |

Why would the Flyers want Nylander? We already have JVR. That’s all we need is another guy who’s solely dependent on his line mates to create offense for him. He looks great right where he is. We need a Mariner NOT a Nylander 🤦🏻♂️ |

Not exactly a tradable asset at this point 😂 |

We could all vote Gio in as the last man...because he deserves it
But yeah, only reason he isn't there initially is because the game is in SJ. Do they really need 3 guys though? |

Better for Gio and the Flames for him to take some much deserved time off. Better for the fans and the Sharks to have more players there. They are at home anyways... makes sense. |
